Frederic in the summertime is genuine small town America. No traffic jams or big stores here. It’s not unusual to see horses tied up at the hitching posts while their riders eat in the local restaurants. The Old 27 Corridor is also a favorite with bikers taking the scenic drive north. In the summer time we like to say that “the only things passing through Frederic are Horses and Harleys.”
The Swamp II Bar and Restaraunt and the Frederic Inn both offer a friendly meeting place, great food and burritos which northern Michiganders drive miles to enjoy throughout the year. Happi Days Diner is a blast from the past located just two miles south of Frederic on Batterson road. It’s a unique stop that you will enjoy for breakfast or lunch.
The North End Grocery has beer, wine, snacks and a full service meat department along with gasoline. Amy would be pleased to serve you. Frederic also has the Beacon and Bridge gas station along with their convenience store.
